Dropbox announced some time ago that Mac users may experience sync issues when using macOS Monterey 12.Use 3 or newer. This is due to changes within macOS that Dropbox did not support at the time. To date, there is no final version of the Mac client that fully supports Monterey, and in terms of communication, Dropbox is certainly better.
A Dropbox spokesman now comments in the Dropbox forum and states that they will fully support Monterey with a new public beta to be released in the fourth quarter. In order for you to get this version, you must declare your willingness for betas in the settings.
