Everyone who has been to the western region knows that water is in short supply in this area,and it is hard for trees to survive here.You will never think of this in south China with abundant rainfall.Coming to Xinjiang,you will exprience a completely different taste.In desolate desert, sometimes you can see some broken walls or ruins that have not been destoryed or buried by wind and sand,and some dying trees surrounding villages,recounting the heavy stories after loss of life in a dry silence.

Birth of miracle comes from  the hands with thick callus of forefathers in Turpan.It is them that have dug the great underground canalkarez,like working ants,under boundless deserts,by holding small directional kerosene burner and in a gesture of half crouching and half kneeling.The Karez system is the the source of life on oasis,it is the forefathers in Turpan who have created the wonder of the world with their labor and wisdom.

The Gobi Desert always burns into metal grey by the blazing sun here,different-sized garvels,big or small,cover the coarse land,but under the gravel-covered surface,a warm and  clean underground water world exists wonderfully.The water flows freely under the sand and gravel shell,full of vigor,and as clear as if never contaminated by a bit of dust from the world.This man-made hidden water canal dredges the canal for water to roll on fro  thousands of li.The water breaks away from sand and gravel's ties, gathers into a powerful spring from narrow flow as fine as golden line and flows with will and force from deep Tianshan Mountains,inexhaustible,day and night.
