On the afternoon of Jan.13th, the 1st session of the 10th CPPCC XJ Committee opened solemnly in Urumqi.

Aishait Kelimbai, standing president of the president group of the 1st session of the 10th CPPCC XJ Committee, host of the standing president conference, made a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 9th CPPCC XJ Committee. 

The 10th CPPCC XJ Committee totally has 515 members, and 479 of them presented at the conference, which met the legal number.

Huang Changyuan, standing president and secretary-general of the 1st session of the Standing Committee of 10th CPPCC XJ Committee presided over the opening ceremony, standing presidents including Wang Wei, Maimaitijiang Aimaiti, Abudulitifu Abudureyim and Badai seated in the front.

Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, secretary of CPC XJ Committee, and leaders of CPC XJ Committee, XJ People’s Government and XJ Military Command as well as XJPCC, inclusive of Smayi Tieliwardy, Abudureyim Amiti, Nuer Baikeli, Nie Weiguo, Yang Gang, Zhu Jinlin, Tian Xiusi, Ailigeng Yimingbahai, Han Yong, Li Yi, Xiaokaiti Yiming, Nurlan Abudumanjin, Song Airong, Zhu Hailun and Bai Zhijie attended to celebrate the opening of the conference.

Firstly, the conference passed the agenda of the 1st Session of the 10th CPPCC XJ Committee.

Aisihait Kelimubai made the work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 9th CPPCC XJ Committee. He said that, during the 5-year period of the 9th CPPCC XJ Committee, they got remarkable achievement resulted from the great importance attached by CPC XJ Committee and its correct leadership. These are also results of the support from XJ People’s Government, relevant departments and all circles in society, as well as the efforts by the participated units and members of the CPPCC XJ Committee.  
Aisihait Kelimubai emphasized that, the following 5 years are important for building well-off society and accelerating the socialist modernization construction with Chinese characteristics.

Under the leadership of CPC XJ Committee, the 10th CPPCC XJ Committee should firmly grasp the two major themes of unity and democracy, carry out its functions of political consultation, democratic supervision and participation in deliberating and administrating of government and political affairs, and play its important role in coordinating relations, pooling strengths, making proposals and serving the overall interests of the country. They would actively offer constructive proposals for XJ’s economic and social development, thus contributing more to the reform and opening-up and socialist modernization construction of XJ.
