Before the Lantern Festival, Zhou Yongkang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of CCCPC came to XJ to visit the cadres, masses, armed policemen, public security officers and soldiers of different ethnic groups, and made a thorough inspection focusing on the preparation for the XJ work conference by the central government. He urged to accelerate XJ' s economic and social development to benefit XJ people of all ethnic groups.

From Feb.25th to 28th, accompanied by Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, secretary of CPC XJ Committee, Nuer Baikeli and other leaders of XJ and XJPCC, Zhou Yongkang led the leaders with the relevant departments under the central government to Kashgar, Shihezi and Urumqi, and discussed the development and stability of XJ with people of all ethnic groups.

Zhou Yongkang said that, the central government will hold a talk on XJ' s work in the first half of this year, it will give a program for XJ' s great development and long-term stability. XJ will meet historic opportunity for construction, opening up and development. He hopes that, leaders of XJ should lead and unite people of all ethnic groups, make good preparations to promote XJ' s economy, society and long-term stability.
