After 6 years' control and monitoring, the fire in 4 coalfield fire areas including Baicheng's Tielieke and Toksun's Kerjian was successively put out. The 1.6 bln tons of coal resource and the eco-environment there got effective protection.

National Development and Reform Commission invested 127 mln yuan in Feb. 2004 to implement fire-fighting project in Baicheng's Tielieke and Toksun's Kerjian coalfield fire areas. Since 2005, XJ has invested 15 mln yuan every year to control the 39 fire areas including Houxia and Banfanggou.
