XJ, with the fame of hometown of fruits and melons, has over 10 mln mu featured fruits. The various featured fruits, are not only popular in nationwide, but also in foreign markets.
At present, the fruits planting area in XJ has reached 13 mln mu, forming several featured fruits industrial belts and orchards.The export of fruits is in good momentum.

In recent years, the competitiveness of export-oriented and quality featured fruits are increasing. The registered orchards for export in XJ number 412, with an area of 440,000 mu.

In 2007, the exported fruits topped 280,000 tons, earning close to 100 mln USD of foreign exchanges. The fruits were sold to over 50 countries as well as Chinese Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
