Reporters learned from XJ Tourism Administration that, since beginning of this year, the number of tourists received in all parts of XJ has maintained the same as that in 2007. While the tourist items increase, and the overall quality also gets improved.

In the first half of this year, XJ totally received 155,700 men\times of inbound tourists, earning a foreign exchange of 55.2579 mln USD.The region has also seen 8.5968 mln men\times of domestic tourists, with the total domestic tourism income of 7.364 bln Yuan.The tourism of XJ increased steadily. From Oct.to Nov.,the second XJ Tourism Cultural Exhibition, the fourth tourist souvenir design competition and the tenth XJ Tourist Service Skill competition will be held in Urumqi and Altay. During the tourism promotion, the national culture featured tourism development in Kashgar, snow and ice tour exploration and rural life tour in winter will be highlighted.
