On August 26th, the enrollment work for 2008 ordinary higher learning institutions in XJ concluded. Over 99,000 examinees are recruited, with the recruitment rate of 59%.

According to the relevant policy, this year, 595 ethnic minority students educated in Han language are recruited by the Han language institutions, 925 examinees from three prefectures in south XJ have been recruited with preferential policies in the institutions in XJ. This year, XJ Admission Office carries out the plan on badly-needed talents speciality construction in XJ key sectors and totally 1,581 examinees are recruited. XJ continuously implements the special training plan for the high-ranking talents in ethnic minority languages, the bilingual teachers in 4 prefectures of South XJ and the doctor training plan in rural areas, and totally 1,576 examinees are recruited.
