With the rapid development of economy and society,the minority language publications in XJ are increasing, and have bigger influence on the local residents' life.

Reporters learned from XJ Administration of Press and Publication that, since the reform and opening-up, the rich ethnic minority culture has been passed down in many ways. Up to now, XJ owns 13 publishing houses, with yearly publication of over 3,000 kinds of books, electronic and audio publications. Among them, 61% are in ethnic minority languages. The number of newspapers increases to 98 kinds, with 42% in minority languages. The languages used in publications increased to 6 languages, including that of Uygur,Han, Kazak,Mongol, Kirgiz and Xibo.
