Maimaiti Tu'erxun was defeated by Russian boxer in the 64-kg boxing match. However in the 69-kg boxing match, Hanati Silamu beat his Zambia opponent, and entered into the top 16 successfully.

In the 64-kg boxing match, Maimaiti Tu'erxun fought actively in 4 rounds when he met his Russian opponent, Gennady Kovalev, the runner-up of World Championship in 2007. Because the power gap between them, at last, Maimaiti Tu'erxun lost the game with a score of 8:15, and he was not in top 16.

At the 69-kg Boxing heat, Hanati Silamu left hardly any chance to his opponent. He defeated Mkina Precius with a score of 21:4, joining the ranks of top 16.
