In the first half of this year, though XJ suffered from natural disasters, the rural economy and farmers' income increasing margin still keep rapid increase.

According to the sample survey result, in the first half, the per capita cash income of XJ rural residents is 1,566 Yuan, 259 Yuan more than that in the same period of last year, up by 19.9%. The increasing margin is 4.7 percentage points higher compared with the same period of last year.In the first six months of 2008, the economic benefits of farm produces in XJ was better, and becoming the main driving force of planting income increase for rural residents. In addition, the wage income of rural residents kept rising, being a little more than the same period of last year.
