LAGOS, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria Moshi Ram has told Nigeria's Inspector-General of Police Mike Okiro that the embassy had security reports about an imminent attack by the Hezbollah against Israeli interests in the country, according to the Punch newspaper Tuesday.

The ambassador said the reports, which he did not disclose where they originated from, revealed plans to attack Israeli interests in the whole of West Africa, according to the newspaper report.

Ram disclosed this when Okiro visited the embassy in Abuja as part of the country's police boss tour of embassies in the country to ascertain their security needs.

He said his country was doing everything within its power to make sure that the attacks did not come to pass, adding that his country would cooperate with the Nigeria Police in the area of training and equipment.
