XJTV station will offer the 1st China live coverage of total solar eclipse observing in 21st Century on the afternoon of Aug.1st. It is also the first time for XJTV station to make live coverage for the pop-science activity. Presently, the staff workers have all got ready, and the work enters into countdown period.

The total solar eclipse will happen at about 6:20 pm, and people in northeast XJ, north Gansu, southwestern end of Inner Mongolia, south Ningxia, middle Shaanxi, Southern end of Shanxi, middle and west Henan all can observe the astronomical phenomenon. Among the places, Yiwu County of Hami, XJ has the advantages including more sunny days and smooth terrain, so the total solar eclipse will last 1 minute and 56 seconds, becoming the best obervation place in China.

In order to let people better observe the total solar eclipse, XJTV station launched the activity of Observing Total Solar Eclipse--1st China Live Coverage of Total Solar Eclipse in 21st Century. They dispatched shooting group to collect information in Hami and made short film beforehand. The live coverage program will last 3 hours and 15 minutes.Besides providing live coverage of all the astronomical phenomenon, it will also broadcast some pop-science knowledge and short film etc.
