On the evening of June 8th, the first China Xinjiang International Folk Dance Festival, themed by Harmonious China and Charming Xinjiang, cohosted by the Ministry of Culture, XJ People's Government and Information Office of State Council opened at XJ Sports Center.

Nuer Baikeli, Deputy Secretary of CPC XJ Committee, Chairman of XJ Uygur Autonomous Region and director of the organization committee of the festival declared the opening.
[Voice-over]All parts of XJ welcome guests,while songs and dances please the audience. The artists from home and abroad started the performance of opening ceremony along with the drum dances. The stage charm with epic style shows graceful demeanour of XJ dances and the fruits of present dancing art.Famous singers, including Song Zuying, Yan Weiwen, Dilibai'er, Liao Changyong and Fei Xiang, famous dancers Huang Doudou and Zhao Liping, together with nearly 1300 performers from 21 dancing groups of 4 provinces and regions in China and 9 foreign countries and regions performed in the ceremony.

During the festival, 3 stages of dance with high reputation at home and abroad, including a handful of wild jujubes will be put on.XJ will also perform 4 stages of dances, such as XJ in Bright Sunshine. There will be totally 45 performances with over 2600 performers at the festival.
