In 2007, the days with air quality at grade one and two in cities of XJ take up 83.8% of the total, close to that in 2006. Among the 20 cities under monitor, the air quality of Altay City reaches state grade one standard, and that of Tacheng, Shihezi, Ining and other 4 cities reaches state grade two standard. The air quality of 6 cities including Urumqi and Hami reaches state grade three standard. 69% days of air quality of Urumqi reaches grade one or two in 2007, a little better than that of 2006. In the 34 centralized drinking water source places of 19 cities under monitor, the water quality of 82.4% drinking water source places reaches the standard.
