At midnight of May 31st, some members with the first batch of XJ medical rescue team ever working in Mao County of Sichuan completed their first phase work.They left Mao County and came back to Urumqi from Lanzhou by plane.

After XJ medical rescue team arrived at Mao County on May 21st, it overcame various difficulties including frequent aftershock and shortage of living materials. The team members visited every village of the 6 towns and townships in the county on foot, and carried out door-to-door medical and disease prevention work. With their efforts, till now, there is no any infection discovered, and their first phase work was completed successfully. Till the evening of May 28th, XJ medical rescue team totally gave treatment for 4,477 people, and did operation for 17 people. It carried out physical examination and treatment for soldiers stationed in the 6 towns and townships in Mao County, and disinfected the public places and drinking water in 54 villages.

Presently, the second batch of XJ medical rescue backbones including 48 members on internal medicine,dermopathy and mental health had arrived all towns and townships in Mao County on May 27th, and started the medical rescue,sanitation and anti-epidemic work in full swing.
