Though XJ is far from Sichuan Province, when disaster happened, XJ people concern much about the people in quake area. Since May 19th, cadres and masses of all nationalities in XJ carried out various mourning activities, to pray for the dead and bless for the survivor.

ZHAO ZHIJIE:

"Here is Urumqi People's Square. Many people gather here spontaneously to light candles and pray for the dead in Wenchuan earthquake. People all wear green silk ribbons on arms, a symbol of life,to send good wishes for the survivor."

The cheering for China and Sichuan is everywhere.People can not hold back their tears, and all of them bless for the disaster-hit people in silence. They also sent hopes of timely homestead rebuilding for Sichuan people.

CITIZEN:

"We Chinese people can overcome any difficulty.Cheer for China."

STUDENT:

"All ethnic groups in China are in a big family. To unite together we can surmount all difficulties. "

In Changji, Aksu and Bayangol, cadres and masses went to the squares spontaneously. People at all ages from all walks of life lighted candles to express their grief.

WANG JIANGTAO:

"The cadres and masses in Badaoxiang community of Jinshan Road, Altay City plant evergreen trees to mourn for the victims in Wenchuan earthquake."

In front of the severe disaster, people in nationwide are of one mind in overcoming difficulties. People of all ethnic groups in XJ have been firmly linked with people in the disaster-hit area.
