In order to cope with the drought this year, Altay Prefecture actively adopts effective measures and water-saving irrigation technique to make the limited water resource exert its largest economic efficiency, thus guaranteeing farmers to get more output and income.
In 2007, Bieke, a farmer in Bielake Village, Jimnai Town, Jimnai County planted corn by spray irrigation. This year, his 36 mu corn all adopt under-film water-saving irrigation. Meanwhile, he's got 170 Yuan of subsidy for per mu corn from the County.

It is convenient for us after adopting under-film water-saving irrigation. It only needs over 300 cubic meters of water for per mu land. And expenditures on water also can be saved. [Voice-over] This year, Altay Prefecture lays emphasis on water conservancy construction, and plans to invest about 318 mln Yuan.
