Housing problem is closely related to people’s life, so how to help people afford houses and live in better house caused the attention of the members of CPPCC XJ Committee.

In view of the rapid house price rise in Urumqi, Zhao Xia and other members of CPPCC XJ Committee submit a proposal on calling on government to help needy people to solve housing problem, and put forward their opinions.

ZHAO XIA, member of CPPCC XJ committee:

"I think the Party and government can intensify the construction of economy apartments and low-rent houses, thus the poverty-stricken people can afford houses." 

Lots of members of CPPCC XJ committee also care much about the housing problems.

SONG YAJUN, member of CPPCC XJ committee:

"While furthering the construction of affordable houses, more houses can be built to meet the demand."

HUANG GONGYI,  member of CPPCC XJ committee:

"As for the needy families, the government can carry out effective measures to solve housing problems for them."

It is learned that this year Urumqi government will stage out measures to suppress the rising momentum of house price, and newly construct 900,000 sq. meters of affordable houses. It also plans to supply a total of 280 hectares of residential housing area, in which a total of 196 hectares will be used for building economy apartment, low-rent houses, and poverty-relief houses, as well as small and medium ordinary commercial apartments at low and moderate price, which take up 70% of the total. On the other hand, the financial department will also set up special fund to grant house-renting subsidy for qualified low-income families with difficulty in housing.
