The New Year 2008 is coming in the warm sunshine of winter. Today, as we gather here to celebrate the coming of the New Year, I have the honor to be elected as representative of international students to make a speech on this special occasion. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for Shihezi University authorities and teachers.

We left our hometowns and families to pursue our study on this beautiful land of China. In the past time, we studied diligently and made great progress in every aspect, we experienced the joy of success, appreciated the natural landscapes and social customs of this land and received your love and care. All this is the result of concerns and supports from leaders and teachers, good academic atmosphere, good dormitory conditions and multi-cultural exchange activities in Shihezi University. For our better life and learning, teachers spared no effort to help and teach us, we are deeply moved and inspired. Our cherished memory of last year is filled with our sweet success and bitter frustration, and teachers’ sincere and selfless devotions.

In the New Year, we will study more diligently to realize our dreams and live up to your expectations and bravely meet the new challenges and opportunities.

Today is a special day, is a day of smile and pleasure, is a beginning of a wonderful future, I am sure we can make greater academic progress in this beautiful land to serve the society. Now, please let me say “happy New Year ” to honored Leaders，Guests and Friends.   That’s All, Thanks
