I Description of the Project
Use rich mineral resources and lower electricity price in Hami prefecture to develop and
construct sponge iron production project with an annual output of 100,000 tons.
I Construction Condition of the Project
Resource Condition: Hami Prefecture has rich mineral resources, among which the estimated iron resources are 2.21 billion tons, the proven resources are 437 million tons,now has formed an exploitation capacity of 5 million tons, the production capacity of fine iron is 2 million tons. The proven deposits of coal are 38.8 billion tons, now has formed a production capacity of 5 million tons coal per year and 200,000 tons of coke (se-mi-coke) per year. The proven reserves of limestone are 400 million tons and production capacity is 5 million tons.
Construction condition: the project is planned to be set up in Hami heavy industry processing zone, the overall programming of the processing zone has been finished, "four supplies and one plane" infrastructure has been started, can satisfy the construction condition. Now the project proposals are under editing.

Sponge iron is a kind of high grade metallurgic raw materials that in short supply in China, the annual domestic requirement totals above l0 million tons, once the project is fulfilled, it can satisfy the requirements of domestic market.
