The Silk Road Dunhuang Hotel (Dunhuang shanzhuang) is a Chinese-Hong Kong joint venture and this is the most luxurious accommodation option in town. The hotel is near the great sand dunes of Singing Sand Mountains and about 4km to the south of town.

The hotel is nicely designed and boasts a range of rooms, suites and even a villa, which are all clean and comfortable.

Within the hotel, there are two restaurants, bar and cafe. The lobby lounge is an ideal place to have a drink and relax. Apart from this, there are meeting rooms of various sizes, a multi-function room and a business center. As for recreation facilities, there is a sauna center and KTV (karaoke).

Though the hotel is far from the city, they offer a shuttle bus service into the city center. They also organize tours to Singing Sand Mountains for RMB200 per person. You can ride a camel to Singing Sand Mountains after breakfast, and admission is included.

Although this hotel is relatively expensive, however, it is a tastefully designed place and a great place to get fantastic views of the Singing Sand Mountains.
