Kaobaozi (Baked dumplings)

Large dumplings stuffed with tender lamb strips and sweet onions and roasted or lightly fried on a grill. This dish is usually found in northern Xinjiang in areas such as Turpan and Hami. Nang

Flat bread that comes in various sizes. Along with lamb and mutton, nang is the staple of Xinjiang food. Nang has a disk-like shape with rolled edges and a flattened center. Many of these types have designs etched out in the dough before the bread is baked in an oven. Fantang A simple tomato soup with bits of pasta, lamb and various vegetables. It's no wonder the direct translation of this dish is literally "the meal soup". One bowl is sure to fill anyone up!
