The Uygur printed cloth is good and cheap, and possesses a rich characteristic of the Uygur ethnic minority. There are chiefly two kinds of this exquisite folk handicraft of the Uygurs.

    One kind is that of block colored printing with extremely complex and richly colorful patterns and design. It can be used for wall coverings, wall hangings, waistband, sheets, mattresses, table napkins, tablecloth, window curtains, door curtains, and so on.

    The other kind is the engraving blue printed calico, which generally has clustered flowers matched with scattered flowers, and which largely is used as sheets, wall coverings, and so on.

    Using colors of red, pink, green, and yellow and designed with flowers, fruit, plants, and daily utensils, the printed cloth creates a unique Uygur artistic style.
