(tianshannet) Updated: 2008-April-3 10:12:50

Teruo Oba puts his mobile phone to scan a bar-code placed on his family's newly purchased tomb in Kofu, west of Tokyo, April 2, 2008. The tomb made by Japanese tombstone maker Ishinokoe allows bereaved family members to keep in touch with their loved ones beyond the grave by using mobile phones to scan the code, placed behind lockable stone doors on the tomb, and view photos and other information about the deceased. The stones will go on sale next month and cost around 1 million yen (10,010 U.S. dollars).
