On the main campus, there is a fully modernized and equipped library that takes up 16000 square meters, The facilities include multimedia, digital, networking and much more. Currently, the library has 1.07 million books, 1300 different sorts of periodicals in Chinese and other languages and what’s more, 6 kinds of book-databases have been introduced into the library. International students have global access to appropriate teaching materials and medical information for readers. The library is connected with Harvard’s library net system which provides the latest abstracts and medical information for students and teachers.

There are enough experimental laboratories with up-to-date bio-information collecting and processing systems, samples, models, wall maps and so forth, which guarantee and satisfy the teaching needs of international students.

The five affiliated hospitals and other non-affiliated hospitals have more than a 10,000-bed capacity among them. The first affiliated hospital, with 50 years history already, has the main responsibility for teaching clinical subjects, providing an internship base for PhD’s, post-graduates and the 7-year training program, as well as overseeing all of international students. The hospital owns numerous advanced equipment: such as VARIAN 2300C/D, Philip MX8000 CT with spiral layer, the 23EX accelerator, AC500 from Philips, Island 500 MAX line machine, ECT 1.5 Ts Siemens resonance instrument. It is also proficient in advanced medical treatment techniques such as liver transplant, in-vitro fertilization, lung and heart transplant, kidney transplant, coronary artery bypass grafting, bone marrow transplant, PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty) and other difficult operations. There are 2,000 beds, 725 000 annual out-patient visitors, 42 000 hospitalized patients annually and 19, 655 annual operations in this hospital.XMU has already signed contracts with some famous universities in 17 countries such as in America: Harvard Medical International; In France: French Bordeaux University，French Comte University; In England: Birmingham University; in Russia: St. Petersburg University; in Japan: Nihon University, Nagasaki University, Asahikawa Medical College; in Pakistan: Dow University of Health Sciences, Khyber Medical College, Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Ayub Medical College and Frontier Medical College, to name but a few. Our school has good relationships with these institutions in the fields of teaching, clinical treatment, research, visiting scholar exchange, personnel cultivation, joint education, expert exchanges and so forth, with more than 30 domestic universities such as Beijing University, Fudan University, Zhongnan University, Shanghai 2nd Medical University, China Medical University, Capital Medical University, China Pharmaceutical University, ZheJiang University etc. Since 2001, Xinjiang Medical University has actively developed Dimensions in Education for Overseas Students. The university, according to global standards, combines the practicality of China, with the struggle to train a person with complex abilities and high diathesis. We have obtained great progress among the education of international students.
