As a highway port, Loayemiao Port is situated in Barkol Kazak Autonomous County of Hami Prefecture and neighbors on Altai Province of Mongol. The port was opened in March 1992 and annually 30,000 t goods and 10,000 people can pass through the port. As a bilateral seasonal port, the passage of people, goods and vehicles of China and Mongol through the port are allowed. Citizens of the two countries in the border area on both sides of the port can pass through the port by presenting their laissez-passer. The port is open during 10—30 of March, June, August and November every year. The port is 150 km away from the seat of Barkol County, 270 km from the city of Hami and 770 km away from Urumqi; 60 km away from Burgastai, Mongol, 280 km away from the seat of Bugert County, Mongol and 480 km away from the city of Altai, capital of Altai Province, Mongol.
